INDEPENDENT INDIA

73 years ago, after a long struggle against the British rule, we finally achieved the dream of the countless martyrs. Midnight of 15th August 1947, India was free of the foreign oppression.  Its been 73 years of independence and yet we have failed to build India as a country which was imagined by our freedom fighters. The patriots who laid their lives for the independence of the country believed in the oneness of being an Indian, however, let aside oneness we have managed to eliminate 'Indian' as an identity. 73 years after the united struggle for independence, we have very  gracefully managed to bring in the social evils of caste and jati into the very fabric of constructing new India. Not only caste, we have also successfully divided ourselves on religious, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, regional and state lines. Free Yourself !....??....! The standstill in our lives caused by the outbreak of COVID-19 might be a blessing in disguise. With the dawn of the our first light our lives have kept pace with the ever changing world around us, scampering, running and adapting with it physically as well as mentally. Gradually, keeping up with the pace of change our lives have become fast-paced. Our lives had been going on in a single loop of thought process, i.e. how to keep up with the change, however, the outbreak of COVID-19 acted as a break on the loopy lives that we were living. Being  a student caught in the deep ocean of competitiveness and constantly aspiring for success, the sudden and abrupt halt to my daily life was a bit odd at first. With the government issuing a complete lock-down of all the services except the necessary ones and postponement of the upcoming exams, the me that was completely focused on my studies got frozen in time.
